Why was Ayla given the death curse and sent away, by the clan after the clan gathering? I know she wasn’t cursed because she could hunt with the sling, they allowed her to do that. Was she cursed because she could count? I would also like to know how Brun, and Iza died. I have not watched the movie i have only read the book years ago. i am trying to recall as much as I can so I will be caught up to read Valley of Horses. Any information on this book will be helpful, regardless of answering my questions.
Basic rundown… Iza was too frail, because of her age, to go to the gathering. I don’t remember whether she died (of old age) just before the clan left for the gathering, just after they returned, or while they were at the gathering. Anyhow, when the clan returned from the gathering, Brun turned the leadership of the clan over to his son, Broud, because he (Brun) was getting too old to be a good leader. As the clan leader the first thing Broud did was to name Vood (I think that was his name, been a lot of years since I’ve read it too) Mog-ur as Creb’s replacement. When he “evicted” Creb from the cave as too old and useless, Ayla blew up and challenged Broud, attempting to stand up for Creb. She was cursed and forced to leave the clan (on orders from Broud) because she kicked his a** when the confrontation came to blows.
