What causes the P.H. level in my tropical tank to spike?
My P.H.level in my tank keeps spiking.Is a 20 gallon tank with 13 small fish. We do regular water changes( 1/3 every two weeks) removing the water from the bottom of the tank, the fish are not over fed, and we use a bio-sponge filtration system.Have a combination of live and plastic plants .
What kind of decorations and substrate do you have in the tank? The pH rising is probably from something in the tank causing it to do this. Coral and shells will do this to your water, they will naturally raise the pH of your water, which is desired sometimes.
