How to keep water out of food in a cooler?
Does anyone have suggestions on how to keep water out of food while in a cooler. I have tried ziplocks – double bagging and even triple bagging, and always by the 2nd day of camping it is full of water and all soggy and yucky.
you’d be surprised to know that it’s not the water leaking in, it’s condensation from opening the bag up, allowing new moist air to enter the bag, then closing the bag over this moist air and allowing it to condense on the inside of the bag, and every time you open that bag, more moist air get’s exchanged and the condensation builds up, eventually causing your food to become soggy.
my advise? don’t allow the bag to be opened so much and push out all the air from inside the bag before sealing.
a little condensation is going to happen anyways, just deal with it.
