Big Camping Backpack

How do you portage a kayak?
I’m going camping in Algonquin park, and I love kayaking, and i’m not a big fan of canoeing. I’m trying to find out how to portage a kayak, and I don’t have $250 to spend on one of those portaging backpacks. An suggestions or websites will help. Thank you.
Paddle camping with portages when you’re in a kayak can be a real pain in the butt. Think about the tiny dry bags stuffed into the bow and stern of the boat – every land crossing means pulling everything out and packing into a backpack so you can carry it. Getting to the next lake means unpacking the entire backpack and wedging all your stuff back into the hatches.
Depending on your portage trails (steps or steep hills) you may have a real struggle on your hands with a backpack and a boat. Portage wheels may or may not be able to accompany you. Carrying your pack to shore, then going back for your boat??
I dunno… I paddle both canoes and kayaks, I think in the Algonquin, do as the Algonquins do. Or did.
Or you can try the idea in the article below….
