Summer School theme decorations?
Under the Sea is my theme, i’m making a little scene out of cardboard, blue wrapping paper etc..that will go under my chalk board and covering the windows with blue plastic wrap and taping some paper fish on there and I’m thinking about getting some 3D type fish from Oriental Trading to hang from the ceiling. However, I still need more ideas for room decoration, crafts for the kids, centers…I have puzzle of a sea scene I was going to have for when a child gets done their work early they can go over and work on it, and a quiet reading center w/ a small beach umbrella, and fish related books….but thats all I can come up with???

I remember in kindergarten we got to design our own fishbowls. We learned about different types of fish/seaweed/plants. We were given a cutout fishbowl and we got to make things to paste onto it.
You could also decorate the desks or tables with ocean like things. Green crepe paper would make good seaweed, or blue wrapped around the legs would make good water. You could tape fish and other underwater things to the desk.
For a fun thing you could have a sandbox, but instead of the usual trucks and shovels you could have those fish pails that make designs of fish, and seashells that they could dig for.
